QUINCY, Mass. — Gordon traveled to take on Eastern Nazarene in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Lahue PE Center and allowed 14 three-pointers in its 93-88 loss to split the season series.
The Lions (8-15, 4-12 CCC) started the game with a 17-12 run for a five-point lead. The Fighting Scots (15-8, 11-5 CCC) responded with a 35-15 run for a 15-point lead with 2:27 left in the first half. Eastern Nazarene cut the lead to six points with a 11-2 to make it a 49-43 game at halftime.
Eric Demers scored 15 points and dished out three assists in the first half.
Garrisson Duvivier scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, and handed out three assists.
Gordon started the second half with a 25-14 to stretch the lead out to 17 points with 10:17 left in the game. The Lions responded with a 26-8 to take a one-point lead with 3:23 left. Demers tied the game at 85-85 with a three-pointer and then Eastern Nazarene scored six straight points to take a 91-85 lead with 15 seconds remaining.
Jake Haar made a three-pointer with ten seconds left to cut the lead to three points. The
Lions made two free throws with seven seconds left to seal the win.
Demers finished with 25 points, four assists, three steals, and two rebounds. Duvivier scored 15 points, dished out seven assists, and grabbed six rebounds. Haar scored 13 points and pulled in two rebounds.
The Fighting Scots next host Roger Williams in CCC play Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. They defeated the Hawks 87-83 in the first game of the season series on the road.
