QUINCY, Mass. — Gordon traveled to play Eastern Nazarene in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Lahue PE Center and allowed 16 three-pointers in its 88-65 loss to split the season series.
The Lions (11-12, 5-11 CCC) started the game with a 12-2 run for a ten-point lead. The Fighting Scots (8-15, 6-10 CCC) cut the lead to six points by the end of the first quarter with a 10-6 run. They scored four straight points to start the second quarter to make it a two-point game. Eastern Nazarene then went on a 30-13 run to close out the second quarter and make it a 48-29 game at halftime.
Meghan Foley scored seven points and grabbed one rebound in the first half.
Brooke Dyson scored six points and made two three-pointers.
Gordon outscored the Lions 24-20 to cut the lead down to 15 points by the end of the third quarter. They scored five straight points at the start of the fourth quarter to make it a ten-point game with nine minutes left. Eastern Nazarene sealed the win by closing the game with a 20-7 run.
Foley finished with a team-leading 17 points and seven rebounds.
Jess Ryan scored 15 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists.
Kristen Smith led the team with four assists and also scored eight points.
The Fighting Scots next host Roger Williams in CCC action Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The Hawks won the first game of the season series 59-30 at home.
