WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Roger Williams in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Bennett Center and shot 29.1 percent from the field in its 70-44 loss.
The Hawks (21-3, 15-2 CCC) started the game with a 22-5 run for a 17-point lead. The Fighting Scots (8-16, 6-11 CCC) cut the deficit down to seven points with a 10-0 run. Roger Williams closed out the half with a 19-3 run to make it a 41-18 game at halftime. They shot 50.0 percent from the floor and made six three-pointers in the first half.
Jess Ryan scored ten points and dished out two assists in the first half.
Kristen Smith scored six points and grabbed five rebounds.
In the second half, Gordon outrebounded the Hawks 18-16 and held them to 40.0 percent from the field. The Fighting Scots also recorded six steals.
Ryan finished with 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds.
Meghan Foley scored 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out three assists. Smith scored eight points and pulled in seven rebounds.
Gordon closes out the regular season on the road against Salve Regina in CCC action Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. The Fighting Scots won the first game of the season series 66-49 at home.
