Four Score in Double-Digits in Scots Win Over Seahawks

NEWPORT, R.I. — Gordon traveled to take on Roger Williams in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Rodgers Recreation Center and had four players score in double-digits in its 80-67 victory.

The Seahawks (10-15, 7-11 CCC) started the game with a 10-5 run for a five-point lead in the first five minutes of action. The Fighting Scots (17-8, 13-5 CCC) tied the game at 17 with a 12-7 run. They closed out the first half with a 27-15 run to gain a 12-point lead and make it a 44-32 game at halftime.

Jake Hart scored ten points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out two assists in the first half. Eric Demers and Jake Haar both scored nine points. Garrisson Duvivier scored seven points, grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots, and recorded two steals.

In the second half, Gordon stretched their lead out to 19 points with a 11-4 run to start the half. Salve Regina cut the deficit down to 12 points with a 23-16 run and 5:11 left in the game. The Fighting Scots closed out the game with a 9-8 run to seal the win.

Hart tied his career-high with 16 points and made all eight of his shots. He also tied his career high in steals with three. Demers also scored 16 points and grabbed four rebounds. Duvivier recorded his 17th double-double of the season as he scored 13 points and pulled 13 rebounds. Haar also finished in double figures as he scored 11 points dished out three assists.

Gordon earned the second seed in the CCC Tournament and will host No. 7 seed Salve Regina Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. The Fighting Scots last played the Seahawks in the CCC Tournament in the quarterfinals during the 2006-07 season.

"The real games start this week," said Fighting Scots Head Coach Tod Murphy. "This week is why we work so hard during the offseason. As a competitor, this is the time of the year that you relish because you win or you go home. It will be a lot of fun starting on Tuesday."
