WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Western New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Bennett Center for Senior Day and shot 35.2 percent from the floor in its 60-46 loss.
The Golden Bears (13-8, 9-5 CCC) started the game with a 19-13 run for a six-point lead. The Fighting Scots (8-13, 6-8 CCC) tied the game with a 6-0 run and outscored them 6-5 the rest of the second quarter to take a 25-24 lead into halftime.
Olivia Stark scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in the first half.
Jess Ryan scored four points, pulled in four rebounds, and recorded two steals.
Western New England went on a 14-6 run to start the third quarter to take a seven-point lead. Gordon cut the lead to one point with an 8-2 run to close out the quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Golden Bears sealed the win by outscoring the Fighting Scots 20-7. Western New England shot 58.3 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from the three-point line in the second half.
Ryan finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and one assist.
Meghan Foley scored nine points and led the team with eight rebounds.
Gordon next travels to take on Endicott in CCC action Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. The Gulls won the first game of the season series 78-55 on the road.
