Scots Fall to Bison in CCC Opener

WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon took on Nichols in its Commonwealth Coast Conference home opener at the Brigham Athletic Complex and allowed 27 shots on goal in its 15-11 loss.

The Bison (8-1, 1-0 CCC) got on the board in the second minute with a goal by Brendan Coates that was assisted by Reece O'Connor. Jason Dantona tied the game in the fifth minute for the Fighting Scots (3-4, 0-1 CCC) with an unassisted goal. Nick
Palandjian and Dantona each scored in the three minutes to make it a 3-1 game. The teams traded goals four times the rest of the first half to give Gordon a 7-6 lead entering halftime.

Palandjian scored again in the 33rd minute to put the Fighting Scots up 8-7. Nichols responded by scoring five straight goals to take a 12-8 lead with 13:43 left in the fourth quarter. Palandjian scored off a pass from Dantona in the 50th minute to cut the lead to three goals. The Fighting Scots cut the lead to 13-11 with goals by Billy Biegun and Dantona. The Bison were able to seal the win by scoring two goals and holding Gordon to one shot in the last 5:53 of the quarter.

Palandjian scored a career-high six goals. Dantona scored a career-high three goals and broke his career-high for goals in a season with 13. Biegun won 11 face-offs and led the team with seven ground balls. Noah Johnson led the team with three caused turnovers and also grabbed two ground balls.

Jay Gallipo recorded 12 saves and faced 46 shots.
