BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 8 seed Gordon played No. 1 seed Endicott in Game 5 of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Tournament and fell 10-1 in five innings.
The Gulls (29-4) scored one run in both the bottom of the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Fighting Scots (13-21) got on the board in the top of the fourth as
Kristen Brown hit a solo home run to right field. Endicott stretched the lead to two runs with an RBI double by Jamie Hopgood. They clinched the victory by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Jasmine Mullally pitched 4.2 innings and recorded a career-high seven strikeouts.
Gordon now moves to the loser's bracket and will play No. 7 seed Nichols May 4 at 12 p.m. at Endicott.
