WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Brigham Athletic Complex and put 29 shots on goal in its 18-10 win.
The Fighting Scots (6-6, 3-0 CCC) started the game by scoring five straight goals in the first ten minutes. The Colonels (3-6, 1-2 CCC) responded by scoring three straight goals in the next six minutes to make it a 5-3 game.
Katelyn Dyer scored an unassisted goal in the 20
th minute to stretch the lead out to three goals. Kayla Merritt made it a 6-4 game a minute later with an unassisted goal. Gordon closed out the first half with goals by
Olivia McCarrick and Dyer to take an 8-4 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Dyer scored a goal off a pass from
Greta Moore in the 33
rd minute to make it a 9-4 game. Curry cut the lead to three goals with two goals in the next four minutes of play. That would be the closest the game would get as the Fighting Scots outscored the Colonels 9-4 the rest of the way to seal the win.
Dyer tied her career-best with six goals and also had a career-high ten draw controls. She also had four ground balls and two assists. McCarrick also scored six goals and dished out two assists. Moore scored three goals and dished out a career-best two assists.
Kaitlyn Ober had seven saves in 52 minutes.
Rebecca Resnick stopped two shots in eight minutes of action.
Gordon next travels to play Endicott in CCC play April 10 at 4 p.m.
