Gulls Fly Over Scots

WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Endicott in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Softball Field and combined for 13 hits as they lost both games by the score of 4-2.

In game one, Arianna Ramsaran put the Fighting Scots (6-15, 2-6 CCC) on the board with an RBI double to right center that drove in Megan Jenkerson in the bottom of the first inning. Lily Rivera scored Ramsaran with a single to left field to make it a 2-0 game. The Gulls (11-3, 3-1 CCC) got on the board in the top of the second with a solo home run by Lindsee Allienello to cut the lead to one run. They tied the game in the top of the third as Adrianna Favreau scored off an error by the left fielder. Endicott added two more runs in the top of the sixth with RBI doubles by Gina DeMilt and Jamie Hopgood to gain a 4-2 lead. Gordon was able to put two runners on base in the bottom of the sixth, but were unable to drive in any runs. The Gulls forced a ground out and struck out two batters in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win.

Ramsaran batted 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run. Jenkerson went 2-for-3 with one run and a double.

Jasmine Mullally pitched a complete game and struck out three batters.

In game two, Endicott struck first in the top of the first with an RBI double by Emily Sharpe. Ramsaran tied the game in the bottom of the first with a double to right center that drove in Emily Kline. Kali Denty scored off a throwing error by the first baseman in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 2-1 game. Sharpe drove in another run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. Allienello hit her second home run of the day in the top of the sixth to put the Gulls up 4-2. The Fighting Scots put two runners on and one in scoring position, but were unable to score. Endicott forced a fly out, a ground out, and struck out the last batter to clinch the sweep.

Ramsaran went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a double. Kline batted 1-for-3 with one run and a walk. Denty also went 1-for-3 with one run.

Catalanotto pitched six innings and struck out one batter. Mullally pitched one inning and recorded two strikeouts.

Gordon will next travel to play Eastern Nazarene in CCC action April 11 at 3 p.m.
