WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Eastern Nazarene in non-conference action at the Brigham Athletic Complex and attempted 20 shots in its 4-0 victory.
The Fighting Scots (5-4) dominated possession in the first half as they attempted 12 shots and held the Lions (3-5) to zero shots. They first attempted a shot in the sixth minute as
Asha Steele's shot was saved by Sarah Moschini. Gordon put three other shots on goal in the first half. Steele's shot in the 28
th minute and
Lexi Potter's shot in the 41
st minute were both stopped by Moschini.
Ashton Barkey broke the tie in the 44
th minute with an unassisted goal that sent the game to halftime with the Fighting Scots leading 1-0.
In the second half,
Devin Lacroix scored her goal of the season 46 seconds into the half off a pass from Steele to make it a 2-0 game. Potter scored four minutes later off a pass from
Tori Caswell to stretch the lead to three goals. In the 60
th minute, Steele scored a goal that was assisted by Potter to put the Fighting Scots up 4-0. Eastern Nazarene attempted four shots in the half with two shots being on goal. Emily Forstrom's shot in the 65
th minute and Victoria Hern's shot in the 87
th minute were both saved by
Addy Gibney.
Giselle Maso and Gibney split the shutout with Gibney recording two saves.
Potter now has nine goals on the season which ties her career-high for goals in a season after scoring nine last season.
Gordon next hosts Wentworth for its Homecoming game Sept. 29 at 12 p.m.
