Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Scots, Vikings Play To 0-0 Draw

In a non-conference battle of the North Shore hosted by Salem State University tonight, Gordon College Women's Soccer dueled the host Vikings to a 0-0 draw to move to 7-2-2 overall on the season.

How It Happened

  • The first half was tight with Gordon holding a narrow 5-3 shot advantage, but neither team was able to find the back of the net, leaving the game at a 0-0 deadlock at the break.
  • Despite Gordon teeing up 16 shots to Salem's two in the second half, the Fighting Scots struggled to convert their opportunities into results and regulation wrapped at a scoreless stalemate.
  • In the first frame of extra time, Gordon's Lexi Potter fired what had promise to be the game-winner off a corner, but Vikings keeper Lily Pfefferle (Fr./St. Paul, Minn.) made a stellar save to keep the game level.
  • The Vikings nearly registered their own winner off a direct from 30 yards out in the second OT, but the attempt skidded off the crossbar and out of bounds to keep the board quiet.
Beyond The Box Score
  • The Scots return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday, October 5 against the University of New England at noon for Gordon's Homecoming.
