Gordon College Women's Tennis welcomed the Wentworth Leopards for a Senior Day Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest on Homecoming today. The Fighting Scots cruised to a 9-0 win to improve to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in league action.
The Scots' first win of the afternoon came from
Anna Mullane and
Abigail Graves who shutout CiCi Deakin (Jr./Standish, Maine)Â and Hannah Erickson (Jr./Columbia, Conn.) in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Jordyn Maddex and
Emily Ontiveros got another point for the Scots after taking down their No. 2 counterparts, Olivia DeLuca (Jr./Dunstable, Mass.) and Sam McGibbon (Sr./Pembroke, Mass.) by a score of 8-2. Finishing off the clean sweep in doubles action was
Anne Carsey and
Madison West who bested Ali Sollecito (Jr./Taunton, Mass.) and Morgan Collins (Fr./Warwick, R.I.), 8-3.
Holding the 3-0 lead going into singles, Gordon clinched the match after consecutive wins from Graves and Mullane in the No. 6 and No. 5 spot, respectively. Despite the win in hand, Gordon saw wins from West, Maddex, Carsey, and Ontiveros to earn the 9-0 win.

Gordon takes on Endicott on Tuesday, October 8 for a matchup at 3 p.m. in Beverly, Massachusetts.
