Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Scots Fall To UNE In Final Game Of Season

Gordon College Field Hockey traveled to Biddeford, Maine this afternoon to take on The Nor'easters of The University of New England (UNE). The Scots fell to the Nor'easters 4-0 in their final game of the 2019 season. The Scots finish the season with a record of 7-13.

How It Happened
  • UNE fired off three quick shots in the opening two minutes of the game but their attack was defused by a block and a save by Gordon's goalie, Katelyn Pelletier. Gordon's Cara Goudie was able to get a shot off on the Scots' offensive end but it was saved by UNE's goalie, Liz Sargent (Jr./South Burlington, Vt.). The Nor'easters broke the stalemate eight minutes into the game when Grace Grenier (Jr./Kennebunkport, Maine.) snuck a shot past Pelletier to give her team the 1-0 lead.
  • UNE's Jillian Lachapelle (So./Gilford, N.H.), put away two goals in the first three minutes of the second quarter to further extend the Nor'sasters' lead to three. Pelletier made a pair of saves before the Nor'easters struck again and went up four goals with seven minutes to play in the second quarter.
  • Pelletier would make four more saves to close out the game before the Scots' strung together a series of shots and penalty corners to try and close the gap but the Nor'easters' would take the eventual 4-0 win.
