Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Mules' Offense Too Much For Scots

Gordon College Men's Basketball traveled to Waterville, Maine to take on the Colby College Mules this evening. The Mules took care of business at home, defeating the Fighting Scots, 95-77. The Mules improve to 4-0 while the Scots drop to 1-2 on the young season.

Eric Demers dropped 28 points, Garrett Sattazahn and Parker Omslaer both netted 15 points, while Aljernod Terry grabbed 10 rebounds while adding six points.

For the Mules, Sam Jefferson (Sr./Newton, Mass.) had a game-high 35 points, Matt Hanna (Jr./Milford, Mass.) had 21 points, while Noah Tyson (So./Rutland, Vt.) had 13 points and seven rebounds.

How It Happened
  • It was a tight back and forth game to start the first half with Gordon leading 19-13 after Demers hit a pair of free throws with 14:44 to go in the half. The Mules then regained the lead with 12:47 to go when Hanna drained a three pointer.
  • The Mules continued to stay hot from the field and took a 55-37 lead at the half.
  • With 16:53 on the clock in the second, Jefferson sunk a three to give his squad a 20-point cushion.
  • Omslaer hit a layup with 7:52 remaining in the half to cut the lead to 14, but that was the closest the Scots would get as the Mules' offense continued to stay hot en route to the 95-77 win.

Beyond The Box Score

  • Aljernod Terry had a career-high 10 rebounds.
  • The Scots are back in action tomorrow as they take on UMaine Farmington (at Colby) at 3 p.m.
