Strong Fourth Lifts Bantams Over Scots

Gordon College Women's Basketall hosted the Trinity College Bantams for the final game of the Gordon Classic this afternoon. The Bantams defeated the Fighting Scots, 68-57 to improve to 5-1 on the year while the Scots drop to 3-2.

Gordon's Meghan Foley had a team-high 15 points and five assists, Sarah Gibbs booked 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Olivia Gagnon and Serianna Anderson scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Katie Kirsch (So.Pelham, N.H.) and Elizabeth Althoff (So./Staten Island, N.Y.) each netted 18 points to guide the Bantams' offense. Bailey Hyland (So./Broad Brook, Conn.) had 11 points, while Peace Kabari (Sr./Manchester, N.H.) had 11 rebounds and nine points in the win.

How It Happened
  • Trading buckets to start the game, Trinity went up 14-10 with 2:07 left in the quarter for their biggest lead of the game. However, that lead was short lived as Foley drained a three-pointer before hitting a jumper to give the Scots the 15-14 lead heading into the second.
  • Trinity hit two straight baskets to regain the lead early in the second quarter. Hannah Vincent answered back to tie it up at 18-18 after the sophomore connected from three-point land.
  • The Bantams led by as many as five, but Foley cut the lead to two going into halftime after the senior hit a three in the closing seconds.
  • In the third, Gibbs scored seven of the Scots' 14 points to make it a one-point game heading into the fourth quarter.
  • A 21-point fourth quarter gave Trinity the final edge as they defeated the Scots, 68-57.
Beyond The Box Score

  • Hannah Vincent has recorded a block in three-straight games.
  • The Scots are back in action on Monday night, November 25 as they host the Coast Guard Academy at 7 p.m.
