On day one of the Gordon College Invitational, the Fighting Scots took care of business defeating the visiting MCLA Trailblazers, 3-0. 

The Scots hit the court again tomorrow taking on SUNY Potsdam at 1 p.m. and then MIT at 5 p.m.

How It Happened

• After knotting it up at 10-10, Jamie Tafoya took control of the game from behind the service line en route to a 7-0 run, taking a 17-10 lead. A pair of late kills from Marla Batson made it 24-14 before Amanda Snyder capped it off with a kill of her own to seal the deal at 25-15 to take the first set.
• In the second set, the Scots held a slight 15-14 edge before Snyder's steady serve propelled the Scots to a 20-14 advantage. Not going down without a fight, the Trailblazers came within two late, but Gordon buckled down to secure the final two points going up 2-0.
• In the final frame MCLA and Gordon tied it up seven times before the blue and white capitalized off a trio of Trailblazer errors to take a 25-23 victory and capture the 3-0 win.
