Traveling to Fitchburg State this morning for a non-conference contest, Gordon College Women's Soccer bested the Falcons by a score of 3-1 to improve to 4-1-1 while the Falcons drop to 2-4 on the season. 

How It Happened 

• The Fighting Scots got it rolling in the 12th minute as senior Christin Redding collected a loose ball on the left side of the net and deposited a shot inside the far post for the 1-0 lead. 
• Fitchburg State knotted the score (1-1) in the 28th minute of action when freshman Elizabeth Read (Fr./Lowell, Mass.) lofted a shot to the upper left corner from 25 yards out.
• In the second half, the Fighting Scots regained the lead with 16 minutes remaining in the contest as Redding received a feed from junior Monet Marshall and ripped her second goal of the game to make the score 2-1. 
• Gordon added an insurance goal minutes later as senior Lexi Potter tucked the ball inside the near post for her third marker of the 2019 season, resulting in the 3-1 final. 

Beyond The Box Score

• The Scots are now 3-0 against the Falcons in head-to-head contests. 
• Christin Redding booked a career-high two goals on the day.
• Monet Marshall tallied her first career assist.
