Gordon College Women's Tennis hit the road for their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) season-opener at Roger Williams this afternoon where the Hawks protected their home court defeating Gordon by a 8-1 tally. The Hawks remain undefeated on the season at 4-0 while the Scots drop to 2-3.

Anne Carsey and Madison West gritted out a 8-6 victory in No. 1 doubles against Alessia Cahoon (Fr./Dedham, Mass.) to put Gordon up 1-0. The Hawks' Emma Place (Fr./Scituate, Mass.) and Riley Spillane (Sr./Easton, Mass.) tied it up at 1-1 after a 8-5 victory in No. 3 doubles. Rounding out doubles was a Hawks' win in a tie-breaker as Taryn Roche (Sr./Greenland, N.Y.) and Jessica Magliato (Sr./New Rochelle, N.Y.) edged Emily Ontiveros and Abby Graves, 7-7 (3-7) to take a 2-1 lead going into singles. 

The Hawks made a clean sweep in singles to take the eventual 8-1 victory over the Scots. 

Gordon continues CCC play on Wednesday, September 18 as they host Curry College for a 4 p.m. matchup.
