Playing host to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) tonight, Gordon Women's Volleyball took an exciting first set but WPI came back to win three straight to take the 3-1 win over the Fighting Scots.

How It Happened

• Both squads traded points in the early going before Gordon broke things open to take an 8-3 lead, during which stretch senior Jenny Curtiss recorded her 1000th career dig.
• The Scots held their lead until WPI rallied to take a 20-19 lead thanks to steady serving from Abbie Gilbert (Sr./Hopkinton, Mass.) who kept the momentum in WPI's favor.
• On the ropes within one point of ceding the opening frame, the Scots battled back from a 24-21 deficit to tie things up at 25 and eventually claim a 30-28 win for the early match lead.
• WPI held a slim 13-12 lead in the second frame before the visitors went on a 6-0 run taking a 21-13 advantage and didn't look back as WPI tied it up at 1-1.
• The Engineers took the third and fourth set by almost identical scores, 25-17, 25-19 to secure the 3-1 victory.

Beyond The Box Score

• Ashlyn Gergins and Jenny Curtiss booked season-highs with 11 and 23 digs, respectively, on the night.
• Jordan Shaduk's 10 kills is a career high for the sophomore.
