Gordon College Men's Basketball hit the road for the final time in the regular season to face the Bison of Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play today. The Bison were able to take care of business at home, however, as Nichols defeated the Fighting Scots by a score of 82-70.

Garrett Sattazahn paced the effort with 22 points and seven rebounds, Eric Demers added 15 points and nine boards, while Parker Omslaer grabbed 10 boards while adding eight points.

For the Bison, Jaekwon Spencer (So./Bristol, Conn.) netted a game-high 25 points, Matt Morrow (Jr./Leicester, Mass.)brought down 19 rebounds while scoring 19 points, while DeAnte Bruton (Sr./New London, Conn.) had 17 points and five assists.

How It Happened

• The Scots scored seven unanswered points to open up the first half and continued to hold the lead over the Bison until Jason O'Regan (So./Charlton, Mass.) hit a three to put the Bison on top 20-18 with 8:43 to go in the half.
• The lead flip flopped back and fourth four times before Nichols closed out the first on a 6-0 run to lead 36-30 heading into the locker room.
• Sattazahn was red-hot coming out of the break, as the freshman scored 16 of the Scots' 21 points to give the blue and white a 51-50 edge at the 11:36 mark the second.
• However, the Bison would use a 15-0 run to give them an edge for the remainder of regulation and take the eventual 82-70 win.

Beyond The Box Score

• The Scots travel to Springfield, Mass. on Tuesday, February 25 to take on Western New England in the CCC Quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
• Garrett Sattazahn has reached the 20-point threshold for the second consecutive game.
