How It Happened
  • Anderson got the ball rolling for the Scots as the freshman hit a three-pointer on her first shot attempt of the game. The first quarter saw seven lead changes in the high scoring affair with the Scots taking the 19-17 edge. Anderson paced the way with nine points.
  • With 3:38 to go until the break, Nichols grabbed their first lead of the quarter as Nerney sunk both free throws to put the Bison on top, 29-27.
  • Gordon went on a 10-0 run to lead by eight before the Bison hit a pair of jumpers in the final minute of the half to cut the deficit to 37-33 in Gordon's favor.
  • The Scots led by as many as 12 in the third before taking a 49-41 lead heading into the final quarter.
  • An "and one" for Nerney made it a four-point game early in the fourth but the Scots extended their lead to 10 with 4:18 on the clock thanks to a Foley three-pointer.
  • Gordon went 11 for 12 from the charity stripe in the final two minutes to help secure the 14-point victory.
Beyond The Box Score
  • The Scots travel to Biddeford, Maine on Tuesday, February 25 to square off against the University of New England Nor'easters in the CCC Quarterfinals.
  • Serianna Anderson netted a career-high 20 points.
  • Meghan Foley recorded a double in each of GCWB's wins against Nichols this season.
  • Said Head Coach Carter Shaw: "It was nice to finish the regular season with a win. Serianna Anderson had a huge game and was a gigantic difference maker in the first half. Meghan Foley continues to see and play the game at a super high level and her double-double tonight is a great example of that. Sarah Gibbs was right on the cusp of another double-double too but she does so many things that don't show up in the box score. Her defensive play stabilizes everything we do and her offensive contribution isn't accurately depicted by glancing over the stats - she genuinely propels us. I felt like every player on our entire team made a contribution today and I was also very pleased with our focus at the free throw line."
