How It Happened
  • The Bison looked to have the edge early as Nichols went out on a 9-2 run in the opening two minutes of the half. Three minutes later, however, a steal by Crutchfield which was converted into a fast break jumper by the junior put Gordon on top 14-13 for their first lead of the game.
  • Gordon continued to maintain the lead which was highlighted by a Demers' three-pointer to extend the Scots' lead to seven.
  • The momentum quickly swung back in Nichols' favor as Joseph Sekator (Sr./Coventry, R.I.) drained back to back three's to open up Nichols' 10-0 run to to lead 38-30 with just under six minutes to go in the frame.
  • Bruton couldn't seem to miss in the closing minutes of the half, as the senior hit a trio of three-pointers to pace the Bison to a 54-37 advantage at the half.
  • The Scots continued to push, cutting a 20-point second half deficit to nine thanks to a step back three-pointer from Demers with just under 13 minutes left in regulation.
  • Nichols extended their lead to 13 before Terry brought down a defensive rebound and raced down the court to hit a three in transition to make it an eight-point game.
  • However, the Bison were able to keep the Scots at a distance en route to a 88-76 win.
