Hosting the Curry College Colonels on Kanas Court this evening, Gordon College Volleyball defeated their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, 3-0 to improve to 10-7 on the season. 

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots threw down a pair of aces to open up the first set and never let go of the lead throughout. However Curry marched back to trail by one (10-9), but thanks to a trio of kills from Valerie Nilan the Scots widen the gap to a 14-9 lead. Gordon continued to roll en route to a 25-17 win.
• With the set locked up at 16-all, Gordon collected four straight points to go on top comfortably, 20-16. Back-to-back kills from Annie Murphy forced the Colonels to call a timeout to try to battle back, but the Scots maintained the upper hand to secure the 25-18 win.
• Curry had the slight 11-10 lead before Murphy began a 6-0 run with a monstrous kill to give the Scots the 16-11 advantage. Despite Curry's continuous attempts to regain the lead, Gordon buckled up down the stretch to take the 25-20 win and overall 3-0 victory.

Beyond The Box Score

• Annie Murphy has recorded double digit kills in two out of the last three contests.
• Rebecca Majeua notched a career-high 14 digs.
• The Scots travel to Norton, Mass. on Saturday, October 16 to face Wheaton College at 12 p.m.
