The Gordon College Women's Soccer team welcomed the Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy to the Brigham Athletic Complex for a mid-week matchup this afternoon. The Fighting Scots recorded their third straight shutout with a 3-0 victory against the visiting Mariners. The Scots improve to 8-2 on the season, while the Mariners drop to 6-4.

How It Happened

• The Scots tested MMA's defense early and often before the Scots were able to break through in the 27th minute as Sarah Sierzenga booted a corner kick to the far post where Sofia Gish headed it in to give Gordon the 1-0. The score remained 1-0 heading into the break.
• Just over seven minutes into the second half, Calla Ashley found Sierzenga who crossed up her defender before sending the ball into the back left netting past a diving MMA keeper to extend Gordon's lead to two.
• Not content with a two goal lead, Gordon's Sabbie Kenney found freshman Kristi Di Rico in the center of the box who fired in the Scots' third and final tally of the night to secure the eventual 3-0 win.

• The Scots return to conference action on Saturday, October 9 as the blue and white welcome cross-town rival Endicott College at 3 p.m.
• Sabbie Kenney recorded her first career assist in today's contest.
