Traveling to Bristol, Rhode Island this afternoon for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinal matchup against the Hawks of Roger Williams, Gordon College Field Hockey battled through 60 minutes of play but were bested by their hosts, 5-0. 

How It Happened

• The Hawks offense immediately tested Fighting Scots' keeper Sophea Zaskoda who made a trio of saves within the first four minutes of the quarter before RWU knocked one into the back of the net to take the 1-0 lead.
• In the 25th minute, RWU extended their lead to 2-0, however three minutes later the Scots nearly got on the board thanks to a shot from Macy Balmer but RWU's keeper swatted it away to keep Gordon off the board.
• The home team tacked on one more goal before the half then added two more in the beginning of the third quarter to go up, 5-0.
• After earning a penalty corner with just under two minutes to go in the third, Gordon put pressure on RWU's defense but were not able to put one on the board.
• The fourth frame was scoreless for both sides as RWU secured the shutout to advance to the CCC Semifinals.
