How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots jumped out to an early 26-15 lead after an eight point run catalyzed by a jumper in the paint from Caleb Scott to give Gordon a comfortable advantage halfway through the first half. However, the Lancers retaliated with back to back threes followed by a layup to cut the deficit to three before the clock hit zero (28-25).
- Coming back from the half, Gordon continued to control the court as the Scots held tightly to their lead thanks to an early pair of layups from Omslaer (33-27). Hungry to close the gab, Worcester was able to tie it up 33 all just one minute and 20 seconds later. However, Gordon's Sattazahn quickly quieted the Lancers by hitting his fourth three-pointer of the afternoon to go up 36-33.
- It wasn't until 11:37 when Worcester's Cardoso flipped the script after taking advantage of a fast break to sink a layup in the paint and give the Lancers their first lead of the game, 39-38. Although, their edge didn't last long as the Scots came barreling back to take the lead once again with back to back layups from Smith and Sattazahn.
- Once the Lancers got a taste of being ahead they went on to gain an 11 point advantage over the Scots after a game-changing 12 point run (54-43). Gordon's Smith answered back with a three to shrink the Lancerss lead to eight, but Worcester pushed to maintain their double digit lead.
- With two minutes left, the Fighting Scots were able to get within four points of a tie after Smith sank another three (58-62), however the Lancers continued to tack onto their lead, ultimately edging out the Scots 71-60.
