Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Vincent's Fourth Quarter Run Secures 63-55 W Over Gulls

The Fighting Scots Women's Basketball team traveled across town to Endicott College this evening to face the Gulls for the first time since 2020. Although Endicott was up at the half, Gordon's strong showing in the third quarter secured a 63-55 win.

For the Gulls, Shannon Gilbert tallied 17 points, while Morgan Bresnahan snatched 10 rebounds.

Senior Abby Vampatella led Gordon with a double-double, recording 17 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Scots contributed greatly with 11 points each: Cara Andreotti, Caroline Sikkink, and Hannah Vincent.

How It Happened

  • The game remained scoreless for the first three and a half minutes until Vampatella had an offensive rebound and put back to get the ball rolling.
  • With four minutes left in the first, Endicott went on a 12-0 scoring run, ended by Caleigh Williams' layup two minutes into the second.
  • A jumper from Vincent, assisted by Andreotti, cut the lead to six going into the half.
  • A 10-2 Gordon run three minutes into the second half, tied the game up, secured by a three-pointer from freshman Hope Krekoska.
  • A jumper from Vampatella put the Scots up by five going into the last quarter.
  • Halfway through the fourth, Endicott cut the lead to one with a jumper from Bresnahan.
  • Vincent went on to score nine points in the next three minutes to lead the final push for the Scot's win.

Beyond The Box Score

  • Abby Vampatella's double-double was her fourth of the season.
  • Hannah Vincent's 11 points tonight was a career high.
  • Caroline Sikkink scored 10 out of her 11 points in the third quarter.
  • Gordon will host the Gulls tomorrow night in Wenham, Mass. for their last game of the season.
  • Said Head Coach Carter Shaw: "I was pretty happy with how well we defended tonight although there were some lapses in our rotations and we gave up a ton of second chance opportunities. But for the most part we were very consistent in our overall defensive approach. I also thought we did a nice job of staying more composed on offense in the second half - it helped that we came out in the third quarter making some of the shots we were missing earlier. It was fun to see Hannah Vincent make some big plays and shots tonight and Hope Krekoska hit a huge three playing some big time minutes. Abby Vampatella continues to play at an incredible level and having three other players in double figures is a huge boost!"
