The Gordon College Men's Tennis team welcomed the visiting Leopards from Wentworth today at the Brigham Athletic Complex where the Leopards spoiled the Fighting Scots' senior day with a 6-3 win over the Scots.
Kicking off the wins in doubles competition were
Will Jeffreys and
John Marineau in the top spot as the duo doubled up their counterparts, 8-4. Gordon's No. 2 partners of
Richard Ryzi and
Mark Noschese earned Gordon's second points of the day with an 8-6 win. Wentworth was handed a win in the No. 3 position due to a Gordon default.
After a pair of Wentworth victories in No. 2 and No. 3 action, Scots' senior Jeffreys picked up a hard fought battle in No. 1 singles ( 4-6, 7-6, 7-5) to even out the score at 3-3. However, the Leopards began to pull away as the visitors grabbed wins in No. 5 and No. 4 singles to seal the deal and overall 6-3 win over Gordon.
