Gordon College Baseball fell to the visiting Nichols College Bison by a score of 20-11 at J. Tech White Field this afternoon.

How It Happened

• Patrick Tevenan's bat put the Fighting Scots on the board first with a 2 RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the first. With a 3-0 lead, Josh Popovitch knocked in two more to go up 5-0 after one.
• Nichols' Kyle Bouchard hit a solo shot to right to give the Bison their first run of the game in the top of the third. The Bison tacked on two more in the top of the next inning to cut the deficit to two runs. 
• The Scots got those two runs back in the home at bats of the fourth to regain a comfortable four-run lead.
• In the top of the fifth, the Bison erupted for 12 runs on seven hits, highlighted by a grand slam from pinch hitter DJ Caron to give Nichols the 15-7 advantage. 
• Shane Demers gave Gordon their eighth run with a solo homerun to left center in the bottom of the seventh. 
• Another grand slam in the visitor half of the eighth propelled the Bison to widen the gap to 20-8.
• Gordon used three hits to score three in the bottom of the eighth but the Bison's lead was too much to overcome as the Bison came away with the 20-11 win.
