Box Score In a non-conference matchup with the Curry College Colonels at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts this afternoon, Gordon College Men's Tennis defeated their hosts, 6-3.
John Marineau and
Will Jeffreys shutout Curry's No. 1 doubles partners, 8-0 for the Fighting Scots' first win of the day. The Scots' N. 2 duo of
Richard Ryzi and
Mark Noschese secured Gordon's second tally of the afternoon with an 8-2 victory. The Colonels did come away with a win in No. 3 doubles as Gordon had to default.
Heading into singles play, Ryzi blanked his No. 3 opponent, 6-0, 6-0 to give Gordon the 3-1 edge. Jeffreys and Marineau followed suit with a (6-1, 6-3) and (6-1, 6-1) W to seal the deal for the blue and white. Already with the match in hand, Noschese put his stamp on the match, taking a 6-2, 6-1 win over his No. 4 counterpart to give Gordon the 6-3 win.
The Scots and Colonels are back at it again on Saturday, April 10 at the Brigham Athletic Complex starting at 11 a.m.
