Box Score Gordon College Field Hockey traveled to Dudley, Massachusetts this afternoon for their first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest of the season to take on the Nichols College Bison. The Fighting Scots grabbed their first win of the year, thanks to a pair of goals from junior Anna Rathbun for the 2-0 victory.

How It Happened

• The Bison were on the attack early, but Gordon's solid defense presented key stops in the first quarter to keep the game scoreless.
• Just over six minutes into the second quarter, senior Kalyn Oliveira fed teammate Anna Rathbun to bury her first shot deep into the net to give the Fighting Scots the 1-0 lead.
• The Scots looked hungry to add to their lead and continue dominating the Bison heading into the third quarter. Within 49 seconds, Rathbun doubled the advantage when she netted her second goal of the contest to give the Fighting Scots a lead they would not relinquish.
• Gordon continued to flourish on the field, securing their first CCC win of the season 2-0. Goalie Katelyn Pelletier came up big with six saves to register the shutout.
