How It Happened
- Wynkeek started off the Fighting Scots with a good jumper dished out by Kate Howe to get the Scots rolling. UNE answered with a layup to break even 2-2, however, this was the closest the Nor'easters would get to catching up to the Scots in the frame as Gordon held the edge for the remainder of the first half. Consecutive baskets from Anderson and Wynbeek towards the end of the first quarter made for the Fighting Scots' first double digit lead (16-6).
- Gordon continued to lengthen their lead in the second quarter and even reached a 12 point lead thanks to a skillful layup from Anderson with 3:56 left on the clock (24-12). However, after a minute of scoreless play UNE chipped away to cut the deficit to seven, ending the half 26-19.
- Coming back from the half, Franzen started a rally right away for the Nor'easters with back to back buckets and eventually a three to take their first lead of the game, 29-26. Gordon attempted to regain their edge with a layup from A. Rivera however, it didn't stop UNE's flow as they continued to tack onto their lead, eventually ending the third quarter 38-33 after their leading scorer sunk another one from downtown with 11 seconds left in the quarter.
- Franzen started off the last period with her fourth three-pointer and quickly followed up with another layup to give the Nor'easters their biggest lead of the night, 43-33. The Scots attempted to close the gap, coming within seven (49-42) with three minutes of play left. However, despite the Scots' best efforts, UNE ultimately clinched the 53-42 win.
