How It Happened
- After a minute of scoreless play, David Massillon got the Scots going with a layup dished out by Sattazahn. The teams were neck and neck until the Bison were able to shatter the Scots' marginal edge thanks to two back to back threes to go up 12-7. From that moment on, Nichols continued to lengthen their lead until the Scots eventually fired back with an electric 11-point run, catalyzed by a pair of three-pointers from Makiej and Frater to regain the advantage (26-24). However, the Bison quickly answered back with another one from downtown to take a one-point lead.
- The Fighting Scots were able to tie twice (30-all, 36-all) before Sattazahn sunk his fourth three of the night to make it 41-39 in favor of the Scots. Gordon was able to tack onto their lead in the remaining 39 seconds of the half capped off by a last second fast break by Sattazahn in order to end the first up by six (48-42).
- The Bison came back from the half ready for action as they started off with an eight-point run to snatch back the lead just before senior Scot Massillon tied it back up 50-all. However, Nichols was hungry for more, eventually taking the lead and holding it tight for the remainder of the game. With 11:44 on the clock, Gordon came within three thanks to Frater hitting one from beyond the arc on a fast break but it wasn't enough for the Scots as the hosts exploded in a second-half push to ultimately take the 98-85 win.
