MEET RESULTS
Traveling down Route 128 to Waltham, Massachusetts for a matchup against the Brandeis University Judges just one week after the Fighting Scots welcomed the Judges to the Bennett Center, Gordon College Women's Swimming was bested 160-76.
In just the second event of the night, the Scots'
Grace Haxhinasto continued her successful season landing a first place finish with a time of 21:48.37 in the 1650 yard freestyle.
Olivia Rose nearly took home the top spot in the 50 yard breaststroke, but the senior secured second place honors with a time of 35.93. Adding to the point total for the blue and white in the 100 yard butterfly and 50 yard freestyle,
Carley Ross was the third swimmer to finish the butterfly (1:16.14), while
Janelle Maxwell also earned third but in the freestyle with a time of 28.04. Doubling the distance of her previous event, Maxwell improved her placing as the junior notched a second place finish in the 100 yard freestyle thanks to a time of 1:02.91. In the 100 yard backstroke, Gordon's Ross,
Gina Ouellette, and
Lillyan DeFeo earned a total of six points for the Scots with their third, fourth, and fifth place finishes. For her second, second place finish of the night Rose flew into the wall at 1:18.49 in the 100 yard breaststroke, just three seconds behind her opponent. In another marathon event, Haxhinasto swam her way to the third spot in the 500 yard freestyle just ahead of teammate Ouellette who came in fourth. Then, jumping right back into the pool, Ouellette moved her way into third after a 31.49 performance in the 50 yard butterfly. In the 100 yard IM, Rose, Maxwell, and Ross went one, two and three to sweep the top spots.Â
Gordon returns to the lanes a week from today as they travel to Connecticut for a meet against Eastern Connecticut State and Bridgewater State at 12 p.m.Â
