How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots jumped ahead right out of the gates, scoring early and often as they netted 23 points while holding the Colonels to just four points in the first seven minutes of the game. With the remaining minutes of the first, Curry was able to reach double-digits but the Scots held control of the court ultimately ending the quarter with a fifteen-point lead (28-13).
- The Colonels opened up the next quarter with one from downtown, however Gordon shut their moment down immediately with a three of their own from Anderson. Moments later, the Scots erupted on a shooting spree, going off on an 18-point run topped off by a jumper from Abbey Engle to secure a 30-point lead as they held Curry scoreless in almost eight minutes of the second quarter (49-19) before going into the half 49-24.
- Continuing to dominate, the Fighting Scots put the pedal to the metal as they led by as many as 32 points (29-61) with 5:33 on the clock. Although the Colonels attempted to close the gap, Gordon continued to hit their shots, holding a 28-point lead before entering the last quarter (67-39).
- The first two minutes of the fourth were silent for both squads until Andreotti reclaimed their tremendous 30-point lead with a layup (39-69). The Colonels started to get hot, hitting two from downtown in a row before an Anderson three broke up Curry's short-lived run. The Fighting Scots remained in control for the remainder of the game, eventually taking the 78-57 victory.
