Gordon College Men's Tennis invited the Western New England (WNE) Golden Bears to the Brigham Athletic Complex for a conference duel where after a hard fought battle, the Fighting Scots came away with their fourth straight conference victory, 6-3.
The Scots started off doubles action with a victory in the No. 2 slot as
John Marineau and
Alex Ryzi swiftly flew over their opponents, 8-3 to grab Gordon's first dub of the day. Next, WNE was able to lock it up at 1-1 with a win on the first court before
Nathan Gonzalez and
Adrian Thomas secured the final doubles victory for the Fighting Scots, coming out victorious (9-7) in a neck and neck grudge match in No. 3 doubles.
In singles,
Ezekiel Hall earned the Scots another point in the win column after shutting down his counterpart, 6-0, 6-0 on court one. Finishing next were Thomas and Noschese who kept Gordon's win streak alive as they each booked a win (6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1 respectively). The Golden Bears were able to sneak in a victory before Gonzalez sealed the deal for the Fighting Scots after finally taking the 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 5 spot to hand the Scots their fourth conference win of the season, 6-3.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday, April 23 when they travel to Dudley, Mass. to square up against the Nichols College Bison at 11 a.m.
