After a two-game road stint, Gordon College Women's Tennis returned to the Brigham Athletic Complex to host the Western New England Golden Bears in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this afternoon. Despite going up 2-1 in doubles, the Fighting Scots were unable to come away with the victory, dropping a 5-4 decision to the Golden Bears.
Annette Kim and
Caroline Helmer dominated the competition on the No. 1 doubles court as the pair took the 8-1 victory. Following in No. 2 doubles,
Hannah Hovda and
Abbigail Fournier got the better half of their counterparts, 8-2. On the third court,
Allyson Fournier and
Amanda Moraes battled until the end but were edged, 8-6.
Picking up wins in singles action were
Annette Kim who took her post at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-0) and
Hannah Hovda (6-1, 6-3) at No. 2 singles.Â
The Fighting Scots hit the road this coming Saturday, September 24 as they travel to western Massachusetts to face the Pride of Springfield College at 12 p.m.
