Taking a break from league play, Gordon College Women's Tennis traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts for a matchup against the Springfield College Pride. Despite their best efforts, the Fighting Scots fell to their hosts, 8-1.Â
The Scots nearly got on the board in No. 1 doubles thanks to the gritty play ofÂ
Annette Kim and
Caroline Helmer, but were edged by their counterparts, 8-6.
Picking up the victory in No. 1 singles was Kim who took care of business, defeating Springfield's top player, 6-4, 6-3.
The Scots return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action later this week as they head over to cross-town rival Endicott College on Wednesday, September 28 for a 3:30 p.m. start time.Â
