Gordon College Field Hockey hosted the Plymouth State Panthers this evening for their first home match up where the Fighting Scots were ultimately edged out by their guests, 2-1. 

How It Happened

• Both squads came out of the gate hard, holding the match scoreless in the first 15. In the second quarter, the Panthers were able to get three shots in before securing the first goal of the game at the 18:17 mark. Although the Scots attempted to tie it up with multiple shots, they headed into the break, 0-1. 
• Just over six minutes after returning from the half, Gordon's Gina Ouellette booked her third goal of the season to even it out at one-all after capitalizing on a feed from Caroline Kelley. However not long after, the Panthers retaliated with a goal of their own to regain the slight 2-1 lead with 19:52 left in regulation. In the final frame, the Scots fought to close the gap but it wasn't enough as they were narrowly bested by their counterparts, 2-1.

• Sophomore Gina Ouellette has found the back of the net in every game so far this season.
• The Fighting Scots hit the road on Friday, September 9 when they travel to Henniker, New Hampshire to face the New England College Pilgrims at 7 p.m.
