Scots End In 1-1 Draw With Crosstown Rival Gulls

Continuing Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play this afternoon, Gordon College Women's Soccer welcomed crosstown rival Endicott College to the Brigham Athletic Complex and after 90 minutes of play, the match ended in a tie with a score of 1 - 1 after a tactful second half for both squads.

How It Happened
  • In the first half, the two teams went back and forth with the Gulls taking the upper hand in shots on goals and in corners, but could not convert on the extra opportunities thanks to Gordon's stellar defense led by keeper Emily Bengtson.
  • Twelve minutes into the second half, the Scots were the first to strike as rookie, Eowyn Lapp found the back of the net putting the blue and white up 1 - 0.
  • Then, in the 66th minute, the Gulls booted in a free kick from 25 yards out to tie it up at 1 - 1. Throughout the remainder of regulation, neither team was able to take the lead as the locked up score held.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Eowyn Lapp recorded her second goal in CCC action.
  • Next up for the Fighting Scots is a league road contest on Saturday, October 14 as the blue and white travel to Springfield to play the Western New England Golden Bears at 12 p.m.
