Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Scots Cruise To 9-1 W Over Lions

Gordon College Women's Soccer resumed play against the visiting Eastern Nazarene Lions this evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex where the Fighting Scots earned the 9 - 1 victory. Action was suspended 44 minutes into their September 6 contest with Gordon on top, 8 - 0. The Lions returns to Wenham this evening to play the remainder of the game. 

How It Happened
  • Nina Ruiz got the Scots going in the fourth minute to put Gordon on the board, 1 - 0. Gordon was awarded an own goal three minutes later before Kristi DiRico and Naomi Love made it 4 - 0 with 31 minutes remaining in the first half.
  • Ada Forbes netted the fifth goal for the blue and white followed by Samantha Kenney who was assisted by Jade LaBossier. Forbes chipped in another tally before Lula Wamberg recorded the eighth goal for Gordon to make it 8 - 0 at the break.
  • Picking up right where she left off, Wamberg ripped in a shot past the ENC keeper thanks to a feed from sophomore Bekah Hammond in the 47th minute. Eighteen minutes later, the Lions were able to find the back of the net to make it 9 - 1 which was ultimately the final score.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Ada Forbes and Lula Wamberg registered their first multi-goal games of their Fighting Scot careers.
  • Bekah Hammond booked her first career assist tonight.
  • Samantha Kenney and Naomi Love each found the back of the net for their first collegiate goals.
  • Rookie Jade LaBossier dished out her first collegiate assist in the win.
  • Grace Forsey made her debut in goal tonight, making two saves.
  • Gordon returns to conference action this weekend as they travel into Boston to square off against the Suffolk University Rams at 12 p.m.
