Gordon Comes In Sixth Place At CCC Championships

COMPOSITE RESULTS

The Gordon College Men's Golf team competed against the remaining eight other Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams at the CCC Men's Golf Championship over the past two days. The Championship was hosted by the Wentworth Leopards on the 6655 yard, par 72 course at the Highlands Golf & Country Club in Grafton, Massachusetts.

Roger Williams boasted a team score of 600 (+24) for the crown, followed by Endicott (606, +30), Nichols (616, +40), Suffolk (633, +57), Gordon (640, +64), U. of New England (669, +93), Western New England (673, +97), and Wentworth (691, +115). Hartford is still in the provisional process and was able to compete but not score (612, +36).

Owen Ingram recorded a score of 72 on day one and a 75 in the second round for a two-way tie for third place (+3). Colby Mitchell from Nichols won the individual medal and Ryan Dacey of the Championship Roger Williams team came in second place. Ingram's third place spot is a program best for the blue and white.

Mario Mateo leveled up for 13th place (+11), while Ben Weed was locked up at 30th place (+22) in the two day Championship.

This marks the Fighting Scots' third time in the CCC Championship/Qualifier since men's golf was added as a varsity sport in 2019.

Gordon has now completed their fall season and will return to the links for the spring season.
