Scots Hold Off Rams In 2-1 Conference Win

Gordon College Men's Soccer headed down into Boston to compete against Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Suffolk University today. The Fighting Scots were able to secure the victory over the Rams, 2 - 1, putting them, 3 - 1 - 3, in conference play.

How It Happened
  • Within the first 25 minutes of the match, Luke Lindas and Adrian Chiang were able to get a double assist as junior, Benji Wright, found the back of the net, putting the Fighting Scots up 1 - 0.
  • The half would come to a close as the blue and white held onto the lead despite the Rams putting offensive pressure on the Scots' defense.
  • Suffolk did not go down without a fight as the Rams were able to strike back, evening out the score 1 - 1, in the 54th minute of the contest.
  • In the 82 minute of play, sophomore Benny Simpson laced a shot in towards the goal, causing confusion for the Suffolk defense, resulting in an own goal in favor of the Scots to go on top, 2 - 1. The Rams tried to knot up the score, but their lone shot attempt in the final minutes was blocked as the Fighting Scots registered a crucial CCC win.
