The Gordon College Fighting Scots Women's Soccer Team took the pitch for the last home match in regular-season play as they welcomed the Nichols College Bison this afternoon. The Scots took the lead early and never looked back en route to a 5 - 1 victory. With the win, Gordon improves to 9-4-4 overall and 4-1-3 in league play.

How It Happened

• At the 30 minute mark, the Fighting Scots were able to notch the first goal of the afternoon thanks to an Alexa Weindorf corner that bounced around in front of the goal before Ada Forbes knocked it past the Nichols' keeper.
• The Scots did not waste any time for their next tally as Forbes found classmate Eowyn Lapp who was able to tack on another goal to put the home team up, 2 - 0.
• In the 34th minute, Kristi DiRico found the back of the net off of a pass from Lapp, extending the lead to 3 - 0. Lapp laced in another in the 63rd minute (4 - 0), before Nichols converted a penalty kick 10 minutes later to make it a 4 - 1 ball game. 
• Playing till the final minute, Francie Leffler headed in a perfectly placed corner from Marisa Grant to score the fifth and final goal of the contest (5 - 1).

Beyond the Box Score

• Rookie, Eowyn Lapp has now scored 11 goals on the season. 
• Marisa Grant booked her first assist in her Fighting Scot career.
• The Fighting Scots will await for the conference's announcement in pairing for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament.
