Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

High-Ranking Cardinals Top Scots, 3-1

Gordon College Women's Soccer took to the road today for a non-conference contest against the No. 4 (Region I) Wesleyan University Cardinals in Middletown, Connecticut where the home team secured a 3 - 1 win over the Fighting Scots.

How It Happened
  • On their second shot attempt after the opening whistle, Wesleyan found the back of the net in the fifth minute to take the 1 - 0 lead. Gordon held the shot advantage throughout the rest of the half but the score remained in favor of the Cardinals at the break.
  • Hitting the field after halftime, Wesleyan netted two quick goals to widen the gap to 3 - 0. 
  • The blue and white's Lula Wamberg prevented a shutout in the 86th minute, but it wasn't enough as the home team came away with the win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Lula Wamberg recorded her first collegiate goal in the second half.
  • The Scots return to conference play this Friday as they travel to Milton, Mass. for a 6 p.m. game against Curry College.
