Gordon College Women's Basketball welcomed the University of Hartford Hawks today to Kanas Court where the visitors were able to come away with the 71-65 win over the Fighting Scots. 

Gordon's Ami Rivera netted a game-high 30 points, Naomi Nicholson added 13, while Olivia Brown chipped in 10 today.

For the Hawks, Taryn Blevins had 22 points while Paige Loughman added 14 in the win.

How It Happened

• Throughout the first five minutes of the opening quarter, the Fighting Scots and Hawks went shot for shot with the home team leading 13-12 at the 4:57 mark. However, the visitors went on a 10-2 run to close out the first to lead 22-15 heading into the second.
• A. Rivera and Nicholson recorded the first points of the second for their squad to close the gap to 22-19 before the scoreboard read 37-26 at halftime.
• Coming out of the break, A. Rivera put up 11 of the blue and white's 24 third quarter points before Brown scored the final four points in the frame to cut Hartford's lead to four going into the final quarter (54-50).
• Gordon continued to battle in the fourth, but were unable to complete the comeback in the narrow loss.

• Ami Rivera registered a career-high 30 points in today's game. Her previous high was 27 points. 
• The Fighting Scots return to action on Tuesday, December 5 as they travel up to Biddeford, Maine to square off against the University of New England Nor'easters at 5:30 p.m.
