The Gordon College Men's Basketball team traveled up to Brunswick, Maine today for a non-conference contest against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears where the home team defeated the Fighting Scots, 74-51.
Bryce Smith led the way with 10 points, while
Micah Steely added nine points.
For Bowdoin,
Alex Halpern netted a game-high 15 points, followed by
Ben Chilson,
Michael Simonds, and
Kevin Reeves who each recorded nine points.
How It Happened
- After bringing down the defensive board, Steely converted at the other end with a shot from behind the arc to make it a seven-point game midway through the first (15-8). Bowdoin was able to widen the gap to 10 points, before Caleb Scott hit a layup at the buzzer, bringing the score to 29-21 in favor of the Polar Bears at halftime.
- Gordon drew first blood in the second, but the home team was able to chip away to claim a comfortable advantage as they came out with the non-conference win.
