How It Happened
- The Scots netted the first bucket after the opening tip and continued to maintain the upper hand, but WNE went shot for shot with the Scots and ultimately knotted it up at 16-all after one quarter of action.
- Neither team could hit their stride in the second as they combined for a total of 11 points with Gordon edging the Golden Bears at the half, 22-21.
- In the third, both sides traded baskets once again, but highlighting the frame for the blue and white was at 1:35 on the clock senior Wynbeek booked in her 1,000 point as a Scot to put them on top, 38-35. WNE was able to answer back but the Scots had the one-point advantage heading into the fourth.
- With WNE knocking on the door, trailing 48-50, A. Rivera hit the dagger from behind the arc to give Gordon a 5-point cushion with 47 seconds left in regulation. Once again, WNE matched the Scots with their own three-pointer on the other end, but with just 27 ticks on the clock, the Golden Bears had to foul. Then, A. Rivera went 4-4 from the charity stripe while Wynbeek went 2-2 to give Gordon the well earned 59-53 win.
