How It Happened
- The Scots wasted no time getting ahead, as a Quanico basket from behind the arc gave Gordon the first sizable six-point lead of the game at the 15:57 mark (11-5). Gordon was able to hold their advantage until a nine-point run from the Bison flipped the script as Nichols took the 25-23 lead with less than ten minutes remaining in the half, however, the Fighting Scots were quick to regain their edge as Tebbs sunk one from downtown before landing a layup to bring the score to 28-25. The Bison attempted to close the gap but the Scots were on a roll, going on a commanding 13-point point rally which was catalyzed by a Sattazahn three (46-31) before heading into the second half up, 50-41.Â
- The Bison outscored the Scots 8-2 to open up the second half to come within one (51-52) before eventually pulling ahead, 54-53 after a Rucker three at the 16:20 mark. However, Nichols swiftly retook a six-point edge (60-54). Meanwhile, the Fighting Scots attempted to close the gap in the last 12 minutes, coming within three after a layup from Tebbs (59-62), but the Bison turned up the heat, eventually gaining a 13-point lead that they would not relinquish as they sealed the eventual 96-84 win over the Scots.
