Scots Drop Two On Final Day Of PFX Games

On the final day of the PFX Spring Games, Gordon College Softball fell to the Heidelberg University Student Princes and the Rowan University Profs, 13-4 and 15-2, respectively.

Gordon vs. Heidelberg
  • Heidelberg raced out to a 5-0 lead after collecting eight hits in the home half of the first.
  • With two on and nobody out, Gina Terrazzano hit a single to right center to bring home Jayden Johnson to get the Scots on the board. Then, with the bases juiced and two down, Emily Peterson stepped up to the plate to rip a 2-RBI single through the right side, cutting the deficit to just two runs (3-5).
  • The Student Princes got one run back in the bottom of the second before erupting for six in the fourth to eventually secure the 13-4 victory in five innings.
Gordon vs. Rowan
  • The Profs got on the board early and often, jumping out to a 14-0 lead before the Fighting Scots were able to get on the board thanks to an Abigail Hartley 2-RBI single up the middle. However, it wasn't enough as Rowan ended the game early, 15-2.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Freshman, Abigail Hartley recorded her first collegiate hit and RBI's in game two.
  • Rookie Gina Terrazzano in three out of the last four games.
  • Today marks the final games in Florida for the Fighting Scots before returning home tomorrow. Next, up for the blue and white is a home double-header against Eastern Nazarene on Saturday, March 18 starting at 12 p.m.
